Message from the Community Education Director
Distressed youth are often unable to cope with their emotional pain; many see ending their lives as the only way out. Far too often, we fail to recognize the warning signs a suicidal youth is sending out until it is too late.
Choices2: Reaching Out is an educational tool helps build a community response to preventing suicide. It prepares young people to reach out to each other and to trusted adults – counsellors, coaches, teachers, family – as key helpers. The DVD and workshop address the relationship between mental health, overwhelming adversity, and suicidality.
Reviews from students, school personnel and mental health professionals are filled with praise for this educational resource. School counselors and teachers have reported immediate impacts as a result of this video – several have noticed increased empathy among students and a willingness to reach out on their own behalf for the first time.
Our film helps save lives. Together we can prevent suicide.
